Where it all Begun
My parents and I were never the type of family to go on holiday every single year or have expensive all inclusive vacations at big resorts...
Though, when little, we had the opportunity to visit a Gynecologist Congress in France in 2004 with my father and the Football World Cup Germany in 2006, this was no more than a sacrifice my father did to gather the money and fulfill his own travel dreams (sowing some of them in us). Even though this might mean we had to eat scraps till we gathered the money back to go back to a "normal" living. We lived comfortable but by the day.
These where basically the biggest trips I had before jumping into the life changing adventures of internship in Bangkok, Thailand and travelling all around New Zealand and Southeast Asia.
After a few years, us (my brother and I) growing a little bit older, the economic crisis that hit Mexico in 2008-2009 and more education bills catching up to my parent's back. We never really went back to the brief "traveling lifestyle" I could say I had in my childhood and as a baby.
A few years passed and my family (along many others in Mexico) struggled to get by. None the less, when the time passed, we managed to get back to a relatively stable lifestyle where we couldn't really afford any big trips but definitively got back into the traveling game. We began touring different states and cities in Mexico such as Guanajuato, Chiapas, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Mexico City, Puebla and Yucatan.
Even though there's still a looooong way to go to tick all of the 52 states of Mexico off the list, these experiences with my family, especially with the approach my parents gave them and all of the things I was exposed to at a young age. I realized how much I loved folklore and the visual side of culture, how diverse, colorful and bright Mexican culture was.
I fell in love with the idea of seeing and experiencing different panoramas, with such a rich background and story. Even though I didn't realized the connection back then, this influenced and lead me to one of the toughest decisions we (as a modern society) have to make in our lives: our career path.
Already around my junior high school years, I knew it had to be Tourism.
Even though (I have to say) the way through my career was not an easy path. Lots of bumps, reality slaps and other issues. Not only career-related but also inner struggles and crisis. As I realized many many people (peers and teachers included) saw a very different side of tourism that I didn't really like. Going all the way through it's polarizing truths: the resort life, beaches and careless consumption... Or BUSINESS, BUSINESS, BUSINESS, bureaucracy, do as I say, have things done and the blind "craving the client's money" rigid mentality.
I struggled and realized I wanted more. Something that would have more sense and that would give meaning and joy to my life. Realizing what I didn't like, I allowed myself to go back and see what I REALLY enjoyed and loved... The reason why I chose this path to begin with.
And so I thought, meditated and analyzed my path for a while...
Rediscovering what travel and tourism really meant to me and to see the many many ways my other life passions such as art, culture and ethnic diversity could match my professional path and give my profession a reason and a sense that aligned with my values.
So I started my Personal Brand project along with this Blog and my YouTube Channel to dive in deeper into my

I made my very first backpacking trip around southeast Asia this year. Jona and I flight from Bangkok to Malaysia and spent a month relaxing our way to Singapore, then flew to Bali, made our way to Jakarta by bus and train. Fly to Brunei, visited Sarawak and Sabah and fly again to Vietnam. From there we traveled around Laos, Myanmar, the north of Thailand and then went down all the way to Bangkok stopping by Cambodia before making our way to Bangkok to then fly all the way to New Zealand for our next adventure!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2000, I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded BUSINESS NAME with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.
